If you have ever wanted to be a vet or if you are passionate about animals, then we have the opportunity for you.
Alongside one of our vets you will see conservation work in action, learning what it takes to look after some of the world’s most amazing animals. Perhaps you will even get the chance to help look after the Amur Leopard - the rarest cat in the world.
This exclusive Oxfam Experience allows the winner to:
- Get close to animals behind the scenes at wonderful Twycross Zoo, Warwickshire
- Accompany a top zoo vet for the morning on his rounds treating some of the world’s most endangered animals
The winner and one guest will be also be given the opportunity to share in an exclusive animal encounter, feeding the giraffes. They will then be free to spend the rest of the day as VIP guests of the zoo.
This auction is being held with the co-operation and assistance of Twycross Zoo to support OXFAM.
All proceeds go to funding Oxfam’s work to overcome poverty and suffering around the world:
- £720 will train ten people in AIDS prevention
- £1,200 will maintain a well
- £5,100 will build three whole classrooms

Fulfilment
Date to be agreed between buyer and donor.
Due to space restrictions, only one person may accompany the zoo vet on his rounds. During the morning rounds, the winner’s guest may spend the time at the zoo but will not have access behind the scenes. We cannot guarantee that you will get to see a specific animal, as this depends on what the veterinary requirements of the animals are on the day you visit, but we will try our best to arrange for you to come on a day when there is lots happening!
This prize is available to over 16s only, and you must be reasonably fit, as some of the behind the scenes areas are not accessible to those with mobility problems. This encounter is not suitable for pregnant women, or immunosuppressed people.
For more information on the kinds of animals to see at the Zoo, please visit Twycross Zoo.
