Tigers are already endangered by poaching, habitat loss, and human conflict. Now, a new deadly threat has emerged: Canine Distemper Virus (CDV). CDV spills over from dogs to wild big cats — and has already killed tigers in the wild.

With a mortality rate of up to 30%, CDV could tip the balance toward extinction.

Wildlife Vets International is leading critical research to develop rapid diagnostic tools that can detect CDV in the field. This will help conservationists protect tigers before it’s too late.
