09/08/2025
Apply now! Build your wildlife veterinary expertise with the help of one of our bursaries.
Are you a qualified vet who has been working or volunteering with a conservation organisation or project for at least one year?
We are seeking applications from vets who would like to attend a training course or conference in 2026 which could help take their wildlife health career to the next level.

We have three bursaries available. The amount we can offer for each award is £900. This could go towards essential travel and accommodation expenses, or course/registration fees. The choice of course or conference is up to you, but you will need to tell us why it will make a real difference to the impact you can have on the health of threatened species.
We particularly encourage applications from those working in biodiverse areas with otherwise limited access to training in wildlife veterinary medicine.
TO APPLY please download and complete this form and send it to o.walter@wildlifevetsinternational.org by 30th September 2025. Please also copy in l.maclachlan@wildlifevetsinternational.org
We will send you an acknowledgement that we have received your application. We expect to announce the successful candidate by the end of October 2025 at the latest.
We look forward to hearing from you.

We are incredibly grateful to our dear friends, the Miller family, for once again offering a bursary in Brian Miller’s memory, as well as to the Metamorphosis Foundation and a generous private donor for enabling us to offer an additional two awards.
The Brian Miller Memorial Bursary
Following his untimely death in April last year, the Brian Miller Memorial Bursary was set up by Brian’s wife, Barbara Miller, and his daughter, Sharon Miller, who co-founded WVI in 2004, along with renowned wildlife vets Dr John Lewis and Dr Andrew Greenwood. A wildlife lover himself, Brian was immensely proud of his daughter for setting up both Wildlife Vets International and, prior to that, Amur, a charity which supported the conservation of Amur leopards and tigers. The Miller family have supported both charities over many years and we are incredibly grateful to them for this wonderful gesture in Brian’s name.
