Call to arms for veterinary practices at BSAVA 2014
02/04/2014

Our vets at Wildlife Vets International need your help
Wildlife Vets International (WVI) is an established charity providing veterinary input and expertise to endangered species conservation projects around the world.
Our vets are all UK practitioners who are specialists in their field. We support overseas projects by working with local teams, training providers and giving follow up advice and assistance.
WVI badly needs your help to save or secure the very survival of many wild species. We need UK veterinary professionals and practices to support UK vets in this valuable and essential work.
We are funded by local projects, foundations and donations from companies, veterinary practices and individuals.
The scale of need is very much greater than current funding and resources can cope with and we have to turn away many requests for help.
If you help us with a modest annual donation, WVI will provide you with waiting room materials, plus informative and interesting stories for websites/newsletters, helping you to show another caring face of your practice to your clients.
At BSAVA 2014, WVI is offering a join up incentive in the form of a draw.
Come and see us on stand 15B, ICC, Hall 1.

Win a trip with a zoo vet – details of the draw
All practices that pledge at BSAVA 2014 to raise £100 by the end of the year will be entered in a draw to win a Dyson Animal Vacuum worth around £350. Not only do these have the renowned Dyson technology, but they are designed to pick up all manor of animal hair! A treat for anyone with or without pets.
For every £100 that the practices manage to raise, we will enter them into a draw to win an experience with a zoo vet. Fancy doing the rounds with TV vet Matt Brash around Flamingoland, Yorkshire, or big cat expert John Lewis around Wildlife Heritage Foundation, Kent?
Come and find us on Stand 15B outside Hall 1 in the ICC. or email Olivia Walter on info@wildlifevetsinternational.org.
WVI, Painted dogs and BSAVA Congress, ICC Birmingham, 3-6th April
WVI patron and vet on our African Painted dog project, Steve Leonard, will be at our stand (15B in the ICC Hall 1) over the four days of congress. We will also have our big cat vet, Dr John Lewis, and avian specialist, Andrew Greenwood, on the stand on Thursday and Friday.
Spencer Scott Travel’s Liz Drake will be on the stand all day on Friday 4th April to answer all your questions about this amazing safari.
Come and have your picture taken with our larger than life painted dog or Sumatran tiger poster and even perhaps a vet thrown in for good measure!
What kind of dog can kill a cat like this?

A sick dog, passing on deadly distemper.
Infected tigers can die.
They can also lose their fear of man.
A tiger with no fear can become a killer.
Then, tragically, the tiger may well be killed.
WVI is determined to break the deadly cycle. Our big cat vet Dr John Lewis is working in freezing Russia and in the forests of Sumatra and Bangladesh on vital research.
Can you help and save the tiger?
