Before departure there will be animals and wildlife vets to meet, face painting, lucky dip and other jungle fun. Animals and entertainment continues on the hour long train journey. On departure from the train, the fun continues including a chance to buy cakes for your onward journey (or a cheeky snack before departure). News from the Field

WVI is as busy as ever in the field and here are two of our more recent stories

Digital x-ray reaches Seychelles

Digital x-ray reaches Seychelles

The first ever digital x-ray for use exclusively for wildlife life has reached the shores of the Seychelles. Stumpy, an endangered yellow-bellied mud turtle, has had her bones x-rayed already.

Pine Martens for Wales

After extensive research the Vincent Wildlife Trust have concluded that supplementation of dwindling pine marten populations in Wales is the way to expand this native species range.

Trekking for tigers

Olivia’s fundraising for tigers has got off to a great start with over £700 being raised already. Most of this comes from the Jumble for the Jungle and THANK YOU to all the fabulous people who helped – it was very hard work and we hope the constant supply of tea and cake went someway to say thank you. The Brownies did a sterling job at Tea for Tigers in Hebden Bridge, raising £500 for tigers. Caldervalley’s schools have done exceedingly well with Hebden Royd School raising £212 only to be beaten by Colden J&I School a few weeks later. They raised a staggering £519! Olivia led the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, whose star had to be Harry Heathcote. He has raised £300 and at only 13, he had to spend the day with a bunch of middle aged women. Olivia and her cousin did the whole 25 miles looking absurd in tiger onesies…..
